The American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) has a proven record for providing high-quality US education for global career success. AUBG is accredited both in the United States by NEASC (the same body that accredits Harvard, MIT, and Yale) and in Europe by Bulgaria’s National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation. As a result, upon successful completion of their studies, AUBG students obtain dual American and European diplomas.
The university offers more than 10 BA programs, an Executive MBA program, and a joint venture Executive Master in Finance, Banking & Real Estate with SDA Bocconi. Today AUBG is home to about 1,000 students from more than 40 countries, and 70+ faculty from almost 20 countries. Degree programs and curriculum are regularly upgraded and modernized to respond to the ever-increasing demands of the global business environment. AUBG faculty body comprises world-renowned professors as well as experienced practitioners, who work tirelessly to create an outstanding academic experience for students. On top, AUBG students can take part in exchange programs in both Europe and the United States, and can choose from over 300 US and more than 50 European universities.
Furthermore, AUBG provides the best modern facilities in the region. From student accommodation to the fabulous award-winning building of the America for Bulgaria Student Center, we have a world-class residential compound. All of that combined with a great location in the town of Blagoevgrad, named the ‘coolest place in southwest Bulgaria’ by The Rough Guide. It is a small, vibrant university town (20,000 of the 80,000 residents are students) within easy reach of the capital Sofia. If you want to explore the world, AUBG is the perfect choice. Bulgaria is one of the most diverse countries in Europe, and you can visit any major European city in 2,5 hours by flight. Its relatively compact size and accessible highway system means you can travel from seaside to ski slope in a single day. With many hiking trails, protected sites of historic interest, spas, wine trails and opportunities for eco-tourism and adventure sports, Bulgaria is one of Europe’s most exciting, hospitable (and affordable) destinations.
Approximately 5,000 alumni have graduated from AUBG over the years, with 99.8% employed or enrolled in grad school within a few months of graduation. AUBG alumni score remarkable compensation results. Approximately 20% of graduates earn more than $100,000/year and over 20% of alumni from 1995-2005 who are currently working in the U.S. earn more than $250,000/year. Furthermore, AUBG is an undisputed education leader for a sixth consecutive year according to the Bulgarian Ministry of Education national university ranking and AUBG graduates are some of the most sought-after specialists earning the highest incomes in their fields.
